HUDSON FACILITY SERVICES

Hudson Facility Services is part of a family of companies with roots going all the way back to 1929, and now in it's third generation. Since our inception, Hudson Facility Services has experienced phenomenal growth. Today, Jim Hudson and his experienced team of facility professionals manage a robust portfolio of commercial properties, schools and churches in the metropolitan St. Louis area.

HISTORY:

In 1929, the state of Missouri issued a charter of incorporation to Hudson Chemical Company, in St. Louis, Missouri. Charles L. Hudson, Sr. was president and primary shareholder. Hudson Chemical Company manufactured sanitary chemical products and performed a sanitation service for manufacturing plants, institutions, retails stores and office buildings.  After World War II, Hudson Chemical Company expanded its business to include being a distributor for a line of agricultural chemicals which were used by groundskeepers and extermination contractors in St. Louis.

In the mid 1940's, Charles L. Hudson Jr. became involved in the business full-time and in 1947 Hudson Chemical Company created a service division to scrub, wax and polish tile, terrazzo and linoleum floors. This experience helped establish the housekeeping/janitorial service business and his brother George E. Hudson followed into the business.  In 1959 Hudson Security Services division was established providing uniformed and licensed security officers to many of their current customers who were looking for a reliable local company they could trust to provide security service.

In the late 1960's,  the company formed the Mechanical Services Division having already provided janitorial and security service work in institutions, factories, retail and commercial office buildings. it was an easy transition into this service due to Hudson’s management of mechanical equipment and our extensive expertise in boilers, water softeners, filter installations, power sprayers and chemical product manufacturing in these same building types. The department grew to provide Maintenance and Facility Management Services to our many customers.

The 1980's led to growth in the Commercial, Institutional and Nursing Home markets.  HVAC maintenance service programs were offered to retail strip and property management customers, and construction and remodeling services were added to be a complete one-source solution for our customers. In the early 1990's, Hudson entered the Educational sector providing the principals of Facility Management Services to these customers.

In 2002, Hudson Electric was formed due to the demand for licensed electrical work from our customers.  Today, what was formally known as Hudson Building Services is now divided into three different companies, Hudson Services (Security), Hudson Cleaning, and Hudson Facility Services  which is the combination of the Facility Management, Mechanical and Electrical Services.
